Kotor is for many the most beautiful place in Montenegro. UNESCO felt the same, and added Kotor to their list of world cultural heritages after the devastating earthquake in 1979. The town is situated on the southeast end of the Boka Kotorska, a bay with almost Scandinavian measurements. The only car in the old town is a replica of a small Fiat Cinquecento with a mini-trailer, and it collects the trash. The fortress high above the bay offers a breathtaking view.
